I am back. And I am married.

So, a lot has changed since I last posted. Mainly good things. Actually, all good things.

I got married on October 28, and my brain is buzzing with things that want to travel through my finger tips to this blog. So many feelings and emotions I want to capture before they lose any of their flavor. But I'll start with a few things about marriage (I'm so full of knowledge now...being a week and a half into this thing).

I'll start with something I hate:

1) Going back to work after spending two weeks in a surreal, blissful, care-free world. Not cool.

Things I love:

2) Drinking coffee in bed with my husband in the morning. (And making a mental note to never give him the commemorative 111th Congress mug again, which apparently causes him to recall all of the things he hated about the 111th Congress. I laughed while he twisted it in his cupped hands, murmuring things under his breath before he took his first sip.)

3) Seeing my husband so excited about bringing his lunch to work, and not caring that his coworkers give him a hard time about it. It is the most heart-warming thing ever.

4) Not freaking out at 10:00pm because I have to go home soon in order to be in bed by 11:00pm.

5) Texting each other at work. We did that before we were married, but somehow it is just better now, knowing we are working toward the same thing, and going to the same home when we finish.

6) Talking on the drive to work. Talking before we fall asleep. Talking while I'm making dinner. All those little moments we used to spend apart are now filled.

This is only our second day of being back at work, and it will be an adjustment trying to get into a routine and finishing everything that needs to get done in the apartment. But everything is better together. I keep having moments of enlightenment when I remember that this is not a temporary arrangement, and I don't have to go home in a few days. Remembering that is the best feeling. I feel like there is something sacred about the first few weeks of marriage, and I want to remember these little details. Because in even one year, we will know so much more than we do now. I look forward to that, but I am so happy with these first few weeks and all the learning that will come with them.

More on the wedding (and pictures!) soon.
